A video showcased Olivia dashing across the stage and falling into a significant opening, subsequently climbing back up and explaining the situation to her audience before continuing with her performance.
During her talk with Jimmy, Olivia expressed that she considered the event to be “rather beautiful” and felt content reflecting on it.
She conveyed that the incident led her to contemplate her Filipino roots after reconnecting with her family in the Philippines prior to her tour in Australia.
Olivia also mentioned that she was transported to a medical facility as a safety protocol … but received a clean check-up.
During a later segment of their conversation, Jimmy mentioned that he heard Olivia had encountered some issues — prompting the artist to reminisce about a tale of her journey from Canada to Portland, Oregon, where she faced border patrol challenges.
Olivia recounted that border patrol officers escorted her into a questioning area and asked her if she had any prior convictions, to which she responded “no.”
Nonetheless, Olivia felt shaken, especially after one of the agents warned her that she could face jail time for deceiving a federal official.
However, it turned out to be a mere misunderstanding… the authorities mistakenly identified Olivia Rodrigo as an Olivia Rodriguez, who had a history of multiple arrests and shared the same age as the singer.
After being released from detention, Olivia carried on with her day, though she expressed her frustration regarding the incident.
And justifiably so.
