Nicky Jam has decided to withdraw his support from Donald Trump‘s presidential campaign. The singer’s decision follows the former president’s contentious rally over the weekend.

Continuing his statements, which we’ve translated to English, he remarked … “I didn’t anticipate that, a month later, a comedian would speak derogatorily about my homeland. For that reason, I retract my backing for Trump.”

Jam is specifically referencing comedian Tony Hinchcliffe‘s remarks during the Sunday rally at Madison Square Garden … during which he described Puerto Rico as a “floating dump.”
The comment ignited significant backlash towards Hinchcliffe and Trump … who faced criticism for failing to explicitly denounce the racist comments during his address at the rally. Nevertheless, the Trump campaign later issued a statement claiming that the joke “does not represent the stance of President Trump.”
This isn’t the first occasion where Trump has stumbled in relation to Jam. As TMZ had reported earlier, the former president inadvertently misidentified the musician during his introduction at a rally in Las Vegas back in September.
During that event, Trump queried his audience if they recognized Jam, adding… “she’s quite attractive.”
The Republican candidate seemed genuinely taken aback when the male Latin singer emerged to address the crowd… with Jam opting to disregard the remark.
It appears he was unable to hold back this time!!!
