As Halloween (Oct. 31) approaches, Halle Berry is receiving a wave of admiration. On Wednesday (Oct. 30), Tyla, Halle Bailey, and Coi Leray all honored the Emmy Award-winning actress by embodying her memorable film characters in their costume unveils.
Tyla donned a costume inspired by The Flintstones character Sharon Stone, portrayed by Berry in the franchise’s live-action feature from 1994. The “Water” artist sported a striking tiger-print skirt ensemble—a perfect choice given that she affectionately refers to her fans as the Tygers. “I’ve been quite the naughty girl, but let’s be honest… I played the role perfectly,” she shared, paying homage to a famous line from the film.
In contrast, Bailey opted to recreate the character Giacinta “Jinx” Johnson from the 2002 film Die Another Day. Her outfit featured an orange bikini paired with a white belt showcasing the letter “J,” complete with a knife carrying holster. Berry, who depicted the NSA agent in this particular James Bond film, responded to Bailey’s tribute via her Instagram Story: “You nailed it. Love you, angel.”
Leray chose to step into the role of Catwoman for her costume. While many actresses have taken on this iconic DC Comics character over the years, none have matched the impact of Berry’s portrayal in the 2004 film. “You crushed it!” the two-time mother posted on social media.
Previously, Bailey reflected on the intriguing connection between her name and the esteemed actress on “LIVE with Kelly and Mark.” According to REVOLT, she shared, “My family has always adored Halle Berry. She’s exceptional.”
“Initially, I was supposed to be named Hailey, but with the surname Bailey, it just wouldn’t fit,” the “Angel” singer elaborated. “In the end, they went with Halle, which is quite similar to Halle Berry. There’s genuinely no one else I would have wanted to share a name with more than her because she’s so legendary.”
The two also made appearances together at the LA Galaxy versus Inter Miami match in February, where they snapped pictures for the first time. Bailey’s then-boyfriend, DDG, humorously commented on being cropped out of their photos by a fan.
