Shaun also uploaded several snapshots from the moment he got down on one knee … confirming in his caption that Nina indeed accepted his proposal with a “YES.”
The couple shared some details regarding the proposal with Vogue, with Shaun revealing he had been planning to propose for a while.
According to the professional snowboarder, he initially intended to pop the question over the summer … however, an unfortunate dirt bike accident and subsequent knee injury interrupted those plans.
SW later considered shifting the proposal to November, when he and Nina were scheduled to be in Cape Town, South Africa, for the Earthshot Prize Ceremony. Nonetheless, he had to revise his plans again after Nina suspected a proposal might be on the horizon, especially with her friends questioning if he would propose during their trip.
Shaun ultimately decided on a romantic surprise in NYC, and despite their matching outfits, the actress appeared utterly taken aback by her partner’s proposal. Nina had been feeling under the weather days before their scheduled date, but he was determined to follow through with his plan, crafting a fabricated invitation to a CFDA/Vogue dinner featuring Anna Wintour, knowing Nina wouldn’t want to miss out.
A multitude of fans and celebrity pals have already extended their best wishes to the soon-to-be newlyweds … including Zoey Deutch, Julianne Hough, and Katie Couric, among others.
Nina and Shaun began their relationship back in 2019 after crossing paths at a workshop conducted by Tony Robbins … although they didn’t become Instagram official until May 2020.
Ever since then, the couple has turned into nearly inseparable companions … exploring the world alongside their A-list friends and gracing several red carpets together.
Best wishes to the joyful couple!!!
