Alec Baldwin made a surprising comeback to “Saturday Night Live” just months after the dismissal of charges against him in the “Rust” incident — and he took on Kamala Harris‘ fiery interview with Bret Baier.
Baldwin, well-known for his portrayal of Donald Trump, assumed the role of Baier, with Maya Rudolph portraying VP Harris … recreating the prior week’s dialogue between the Fox News anchor and the Democratic presidential candidate for the cold open of Saturday night.
This marked Baldwin’s initial appearance on ‘SNL’ since the manslaughter case was abruptly dismissed in July, due to prosecutors in the “Rust” shooting case holding back critical evidence.
The ‘SNL’ skit kicked off with Baldwin’s makeup-laden face appearing on screen, introducing Kamala onto the stage. Maya stepped out in her Kamala attire and took a seat across from Baldwin.
Much like the real interview, Alec and Maya frequently interrupted each other … commencing with the initial volley — querying the Vice President about the multitude of murderers she permitted entry via illegal immigration.
The skit’s climax arrived when Bret accused Kamala of aiming for a viral moment, to which she retorted that he was merely attempting to elicit a negative response from her.
During their exchange, Alec remarked to Maya that she appeared attractive when angry. It was a comical moment in the skit … although it did NOT transpire in reality.
The ‘SNL’ opening sketch also featured the current impersonator of Trump, James Austin Johnson — as he humorously discussed transgender topics and amusingly danced to The Village People’s “YMCA” — both of which did indeed occur in real life.
