Bad Bunny did not hold back his feelings regarding comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s distasteful comment about Puerto Rico at Donald Trump’s rally in New York City on Sunday — additionally, he expressed support for Kamala Harris.
The artist reposted a campaign video featuring Kamala, showcasing her commitment to Puerto Rico, emphasizing one significant phrase by zooming in on her face four times: “I will never forget what Donald Trump did and failed to do when Puerto Rico needed a compassionate and capable leader.”
In the video clip, Kamala criticizes Trump for his management of resources intended for Puerto Rico following Hurricane Irma in 2017, stating, “He deserted the island, attempted to obstruct aid in the aftermath of relentless hurricanes, and provided nothing but paper towels and scorn.”
Bad Bunny’s post serves as a significant indication of his political leanings, with the presidential election looming ahead.
He made it abundantly clear that he believes Trump is incapable of providing any real assistance to Puerto Rico — a territory of the U.S. — or to the Puerto Rican community stateside, particularly following Hinchcliffe’s derogatory “floating island of garbage” jest at Trump’s Madison Square Garden event on Sunday, which further hindered Trump’s efforts to connect with Hispanic voters.
This naturally triggered widespread indignation, with reactions from not only Bad Bunny but also Ricky Martin, New York Congressman Ritchie Torres, and numerous others condemning the contentious comedian.
