On Friday evening (October 25), Beyoncé graced the stage at Kamala Harris’ rally in Houston, addressing the audience “as a mother,” rather than as a political figure or the famous artist she is known to be. The “BREAK MY SOUL” singer delivered an inspiring address before introducing the Vice President, accompanied by Kelly Rowland.
Throughout the gathering, Beyoncé praised Harris as “a woman advocating for what our nation truly needs at this moment: unity.” She remarked, “You can’t help but feel the energy in this space, the positivity, the sense of community, the humanity. We are on the brink of a remarkable transformation. We are standing at the edge of history.”
The Texas-born star elaborated, “[I’m presenting myself as] a mother who is profoundly invested in the future our children, including all of our children, will inhabit. A place where we have the autonomy to govern our own bodies. A society that is united — where our history, present, and future converge.”
Beyoncé and JAY-Z are parents to three kids. Their eldest, Blue Ivy, arrived in 2012, and Rumi and Sir — the couple’s twins — were born in 2017.
“Envision our daughters maturing, witnessing a world of unlimited possibilities,” Beyoncé conveyed to the enthusiastic audience. “Think of our grandmothers. Think about their feelings right now, those who have experienced this monumental day. Even those who are no longer with us in body, reflect on their sacrifices. The efforts made that allow us to see the power of a woman standing confidently, rethinking what leadership can be. For every man and woman here and watching from across the nation, we need your support.”
Beyoncé’s appearance contributed to the impressive list of celebrities who have spoken or performed at Harris’ events. So far, notable figures like Lizzo, Megan Thee Stallion, Knowles, Quavo, Halle Bailey, and Usher have shown their backing for the native of Oakland, California.
