Cardi B is back in the spotlight at Paris Fashion Week 2024. The remarkable artist has been a focal point in media following her public separation from rapper Offset, yet she appears to be thriving and relishing her time at numerous fashion events in the French capital.
While exiting her hotel on Sunday (Sept. 29), she took a moment to engage in a brief dialogue with the popular social media outlet, “Fits From The Streets.” During this short exchange, the fashionista disclosed that her chic faux fur-lined all-beige outfit was sourced from the Italian label Dsquared2. She also acknowledged Teyana Taylor and Rihanna as significant influences on her style, in addition to her own team members: stylist Kollin Carter and creative director Patientce Foster.
Earlier in the interview, she remarked that while she enjoys showcasing haute couture brands, she also feels empowered wearing accessible fashion labels like Fashion Nova and Shein; it ultimately hinges on her mood.
When discussing her fashion sense, she noted that she enjoys looking sophisticated yet still has a penchant for dressing “thotty.” Growing up in the Bronx, NY, has significantly shaped her fashion inspirations. This sentiment isn’t new, as she has previously expressed admiration for Rihanna.
In a previous conversation with Stationhead radio, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper mentioned, “Now that I’ve reached a certain status, two of my greatest influences are Rihanna and JAY-Z.” She elaborated, “And I’m not just saying that to flatter anyone. Their influence is immense because Rihanna hails from a Caribbean country, similar to my parents, and she’s an absolute billionaire.” Cardi added that prior to entering the music scene, she often looked to her mother and other dancers in clubs for inspiration on how to perform.
Her recent separation has sparked considerable discussion across social media platforms. During an Instagram Live session, she expressed, “A dude thinks he can just purchase a woman. I value myself, but you can’t just buy me anymore, buddy. I find it amusing that guys believe they can mess around, but as soon as I start dating someone new, you want to threaten me by taking things away that I’ve worked tirelessly for.”
In the course of her speech, Offset interjected with claims that she had been unfaithful during her pregnancy. While she appeared to validate this speculation on social media, many fans are left pondering whether she was justified in moving on after enduring infidelity multiple times throughout her marriage to the former Migos member.
