Instagram influencer and model Chanel Thierry has shared her side of the story for the first time following the revelation of her divorce from DJ Mustard earlier this week. On Tuesday (Oct. 15), she accused the renowned “Not Like Us” producer of feigning a cancer diagnosis to prevent her from leaving him, among various other allegations.
“While I initially intended to remain silent, I have fought too hard to be silenced. This decision was made in July,” she expressed on Threads. “Now, just as I return the car to its owner, my life is exposed in the media. I understand that this information is public.”
Thierry subsequently confronted Mustard directly: “It’s surprising that you would stoop so low as to announce to everyone that you ‘took the car’ and imply that my [overdue child support] was payment for the vehicle, which it is not. It’s merely overdue [child support].”
As reported by TMZ, the couple will share joint legal custody of their three children, with Mustard obligated to pay over $24,500 per month in child support. Thierry will receive a one-time alimony settlement of $315,000, alongside an additional sum of $275,000.
She added, “You ensured your public relations team worked this scenario to tarnish my image for two years, and you’re still at it! Just leave me be and stop exploiting me for publicity and music sales. Look at the timeline. After you filed in May 2022, you started claiming to have cancer to make me stay at home. I left in July. Obviously, there was no cancer.”
Accompanying her message were alleged text messages from Mustard wherein he stated, “You should understand that the thoughts of cancer weigh heavily on me. I feel so lost and powerless.” Another message from him read, “Who the f**k [would] do that to someone who might have cancer?”
Regarding their divorce, the Faith Of A Mustard Seed artist is retaining a substantial collection of assets, including a 2022 Cadillac Escalade, a 2022 Rolls-Royce Cullinan, a 2022 Maybach Benz, a 2018 Lamborghini Aventador, a 2019 Lamborghini Urus, a 1960 Chevy Impala, and four motorcycles. He will also retain full ownership of their mansion in Chatsworth, Los Angeles, as well as various other properties in the vicinity.
