Charlamagne tha God and Anderson Cooper engaged in a heated exchange over CNN’s portrayal of former President Donald Trump… with the radio host suggesting the network fails to denounce 45’s alleged “fascist” actions.
The verbal clash unfolded during Thursday’s evening segment, as the CNN host and the radio figure debated the contrast in discussions surrounding Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.
Charlamagne asserted that CNN had failed to confront Trump’s supposedly “fascist” declarations during his reelection campaign, including his infamous remarks calling for the “termination of the U.S. Constitution” and his attempts to “overturn the election.”
Conversely, Anderson didn’t believe that the critique was justified… he defended that CNN addresses these topics “every night.”
Charlamagne reinforced his viewpoint, stating… “I believe you all do not delve deeply enough into it. It appears I’ve heard more on this network about, ‘Is Kamala Harris Black?’ rather than about Donald Trump’s fascist tendencies.”
The journalist dismissed Charlamagne’s criticism as “bulls***,” arguing that the network does not frequently engage in discussions regarding the VP’s race. Charlamagne retorted with his own “now that’s bulls***” reply… asserting that he has witnessed numerous panel discussions on the subject aired by CNN. Angela Rye, host and executive producer of the Native Land podcast, who was also present during the segment, concurred.
Anderson stood his ground… check out the video — he passionately affirmed that he has “never inquired if someone, ‘Is Kamala Harris Black?'”
Nevertheless, Charlamagne emphasized that his dissatisfaction extends beyond CNN, asserting that “no network engages in genuine discussions regarding Donald Trump.”
He remarked … “It’s perpetually a double standard when it comes to Trump – be it with Hillary, contrasting Biden, or now with Kamala, labeling him as a menace to Democracy. Yet, we don’t regard him as such.”
This perspective left Anderson in disbelief, as he perceived that there were no Trump backers watching his show “to seek affirmation of their beliefs.”
