The 2024 college basketball season is on the verge of commencement … and Dan Hurley shared with TMZ Sports that his UConn squad is operating with an “exceptional level” of assurance as they gear up for a potential third consecutive championship!
The 51-year-old head coach was mingling with supporters in New York City … just weeks ahead of the Huskies’ inaugural regular season match on November 6 in Storrs, Connecticut.
With all attention on the reigning NCAA champions as the 2024-25 season approaches … Hurley — who opted to remain with UConn rather than take a position with the Los Angeles Lakers — remarked that their recent triumphs have bolstered the team’s confidence, which will be essential as they aim to reclaim their title once more.
“We feel an even greater drive to maintain the program’s success, and our confidence is sky-high,” Hurley remarked.
“In fact, we are feeling more urgency than ever, but the confidence has never been higher.”
Indeed, Hurley likened their aspiration for a third consecutive win to the necessity of oxygen … illustrating just how intensely they yearn for it.
If successful, the Huskies would become the first college basketball team to achieve this since the legendary John Wooden-led UCLA teams did so in the 1960s and early 1970s.
Unsurprisingly … Hurley is convinced that the Huskies are capable of achieving exactly that.
