Amidst his back-and-forth with Joe Budden and the recent episode of “No Ordinary Podcast,” DDG has been actively discussing his breakup with Halle Bailey. On Monday evening (Oct. 7), the “Moonwalking in Calabasas” artist made it clear that, contrary to speculation, he isn’t looking for a new partner unless The Little Mermaid star decides to reconsider their relationship.
“I am not seeing anyone. I don’t have a prospective girlfriend, nor am I contemplating that at all,” DDG shared during his Twitch stream. “I don’t intend to enter another relationship unless it’s [with] Halle. That’s the only scenario.”
“I don’t want multiple baby mamas. I’m not interested in that. We’re currently taking a break, as I stated. I’m about to pick up my son shortly after this. Let me enjoy my life,” he further explained.
Since revealing the split earlier this month, DDG appears to have had a lot to say about it. In an episode of the “No Ordinary Podcast” on Oct. 3, he likened dating to a “part-time job” and later engaged in a debate with Budden regarding remarks about his relationship. As for Bailey, she has remained silent on the matter.
“After considerable thought and heartfelt discussions, Halle and I have concluded to part ways. This choice was difficult, but we feel it’s the best progression for both of us. I value the moments we’ve shared and the love we’ve experienced,” DDG posted on Instagram.
In September, the Michigan-born artist collaborated with G Herbo on “Nosey,” which incorporates a sample from Project Pat’s “If You Ain’t From My Hood.” This track might feature on his upcoming album alongside songs like “Trickin’” and “Shoot Up Your Block,” though a release date is still to be announced.
