As it stands now, DDG isn’t particularly popular among Americans. Following the revelation of his split from the beloved Disney actress and singer Halle Bailey, he has faced considerable backlash. Recently, a video segment from an interview where he offered relationship advice to his younger self has gone viral.

In the video, DDG stated, “You know I said this to you before. It’s more beneficial for you to be single during these years of your life, allowing you to truly focus. No one is going anywhere… whoever you fancy right now. Get your priorities in order first and hustle, without any constraints. Being in a relationship introduces real boundaries. You always have to be mindful of their emotions, making it difficult to work how you wish.”

He concluded his remarks with, “If I could impart wisdom to my 22-year-old self, I would advise against entering a relationship as it feels almost like having a part-time job.” Many fans shared mixed reactions in the comments of the viral clip. One viewer remarked, “Being in a relationship is akin to a job, but having a child isn’t?” Others noted the silence from Bailey as he continues to openly discuss the circumstances surrounding their breakup.

Discussing the breakup, DDG revealed, “After an extensive period of reflection and deep conversations, Halle and I have chosen to part ways.” He further added, “We remain best friends and cherish one another. As we concentrate on our personal journeys and co-parenting responsibilities, we value the connection we’ve cultivated and the wonderful experiences we’ve had together.” Following the news, both parties have erased photographs of each other from their social media profiles, and DDG dispelled rumors that he discussed her on his “Close Friends” on Instagram.

While many celebrated the end of the relationship on social media, Summer Walker took to her profiles to share her thoughts, expressing hope that the two would reconnect so she wouldn’t lose faith in love.

On Sunday (Sept. 29), Bailey graced the stage at Kamala Harris’ Fundraiser in Los Angeles, alongside other prominent stars. The protégé of Beyoncé was filled with joy while sharing snippets of her rendition of “Angel.”
