DDG is not backing down from his feud with Joe Budden. On the evening of Sunday (Oct. 6), he unleashed even more critiques aimed at the Slaughterhouse artist during the “No Ordinary Podcast.”
While discussing “Pump It Up,” DDG remarked, “Took you twenty years to achieve gold status? To obtain a gold album, you must sell 500,000 copies, right? Just to give context, I’ve got three gold records and [another] one that’s double platinum.”
The tracks “Arguments,” “I’m Geekin,” and “Hood Melody” featuring YoungBoy Never Broke Again were recognized as gold-certified by the RIAA, while the collaboration with Blueface, “Moonwalking in Calabasas,” achieved platinum status in 2021.
“This man is old enough to be my uncle [or] my father. He’s just an old dude to me, not an OG — I won’t show you any respect, my guy,” DDG expressed. “Honestly, I checked out his achievements, and it boosted my confidence because so many folks attack me. These dudes don’t even have any plaques to show.”
On his podcast episode from Saturday (Oct. 5), Budden questioned his cohosts, “Who the hell is DDG?” The New York artist further stated, “I’m relieved that they’ve ended their relationship so I won’t have to keep seeing this name connected to [Halle Bailey’s] name when I don’t know him at all as an individual, and to me, reputation, merit, and accomplishments matter.”
Taking to Twitter, DDG confessed he had been restraining himself regarding the women in his life but emphasized, “[You] individuals [with] platforms are going to hear back from me.” He then shared a series of tweets criticizing Budden for commenting on a romance involving individuals as young as his own children. The “She Don’t Put It Down” musician reacted with “LOL” and “I appreciate this space.”
