Following his comments regarding DDG’s recent breakup with Halle Bailey, the YouTube influencer-turned-artist had a few things to say to Joe Budden. On Saturday (Oct. 5), DDG responded to the “Joe Budden Podcast” host with a series of pointed remarks.

“‘Pump It Up’ went gold after two decades, you old b**ch,” DDG tweeted, attaching a screenshot of the RIAA certification for the track. To emphasize his point, he then shared his own awards for “I’m Geekin,” “Hood Melody,” and “Arguments,” all of which are gold records, plus “Moonwalking In Calabasas,” which has achieved platinum status.

In response, Budden offered a laid-back “LOL” in a quote-tweet, adding in another post, “I love this place.”

“[I don’t] let the girls’ comments upset me because I’m accustomed to it. It’s all in good fun, but [you] n**gas [with] platforms will definitely evoke a reaction,” DDG continued. “N**ga, [you] have a max of 30 years left and are discussing a relationship involving people who are the same age as your son [that you don’t] care for. I hope [you] forget to take your magnesium today, [you] old b**ch.”

During his podcast, Budden expressed, “I’m genuinely pleased that they’ve ended their relationship, so I no longer have to see this n**ga’s name constantly linked to this girl’s name when I don’t know him as a standalone entity. For me, it’s vital to recognize individuals based on their own identity and contributions.”

The seasoned podcaster elaborated, “Every time I come across his name, it’s tied to hers, and it usually comes across as seeking attention. This alters my perception of him, and I hope to see significantly less of him now that they’ve gone their separate ways.”

“After deep thought and sincere discussions, Halle and I have chosen to part ways,” DDG shared in his initial statement on Thursday (Oct. 3). “This choice wasn’t made lightly, but we feel it’s the optimal path for both of us. I value the moments we’ve shared and the affection we’ve experienced.” The couple began their relationship in 2022 and are parents to a son named Halo.
