The former CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch is allegedly replicating the lifestyle Diddy supposedly led … at least as per the authorities who have now obtained an indictment against Michael Jeffries for strikingly comparable offenses.
A grand jury has officially charged Jeffries—who held the CEO position at Abercrombie from 1992 to 2014—with 15 counts of interstate prostitution and a singular count of sex trafficking. The indictment implicates Jeffries’ partner Matthew Smith and James Jacobson, who reportedly enlisted men for “Sex Events” and coerced them into sexual “tryouts.”
As stated by prosecutors from the Eastern District of New York, Jeffries and his associates fully leveraged his position at Abercrombie, orchestrating “an operation that catered to satisfying their sexual appetite while keeping their international sex trafficking and prostitution enterprise under wraps.”
The authorities assert the accused engaged in a quid pro quo arrangement from 2008 to 2015 … misleading men into thinking they could land modeling opportunities with Abercrombie if they took part in the “Sex Events”—akin to the “Freak Offs” mentioned in Diddy’s allegations.
In legal documents, prosecutors describe that the events included large sex toys, high-pressure enemas, and the shaving of men’s genital areas—participants were reportedly encouraged to consume alcohol while taking Viagra and muscle relaxants referred to as “poppers.”
The authorities also contend they systematically targeted heterosexual men, compelling them to participate in specific sexual activities … even against their will.
Jeffries, Smith, and Jacobson were taken into custody on Tuesday—and similar to Diddy, the prosecutors admit that their inquiry was ignited by civil suits lodged last year against Jeffries and Abercrombie & Fitch.
As this indictment suggests, those lawsuits alleged that Jeffries utilized the company to entice young males into sex parties by enticing them with promises of modeling roles. Reports indicate Abercrombie has settled several of those lawsuits.
In a statement regarding the charges on Tuesday, the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York Breon Pearce remarked … “To anyone who believes they can take advantage of and manipulate others through the so-called casting couch system, this case serves as a notification: get ready to swap that couch for a cot in federal prison.”
