Future and Gunna

Hip Hop enthusiasts are speculating that Future may have aimed a shot at Gunna during his recent guest feature. On Friday (October 4), the HNDRXX artist joined forces with FERG for their collaboration “Allure.”
In the second verse of the song, Future fired off lines including, “I’m just a street n**ga, just spittin’, my day ones went fed/ You took a plea for my slime, wouldn’t be shocked if you ended up dead.” Fans quickly linked these lyrics to Gunna’s recent acceptance of an Alford plea in the RICO charges tied to Young Thug. Notably, projects such as Slime Season and Slime Language have long associated Gunna with the term “slime.”
“I love when Future [begins] to talk crazy. Someone needs to say it,” commented one Instagram user on The Shade Room’s repost. Another user replied, “This could honestly refer to anyone… So many folks testified against that man.”
“He could be referring to Woody at this point,” another user remarked, mentioning Kenneth “Lil Woody” Copeland, a significant witness in Thug’s trial. Additional comments included, “He [is] too mature to rap like that” and “No slander towards Gunna will be accepted.”
While neither artist has overtly dissed the other, Future tweeted and erased Gunna’s “prada dem” back in March. Then in May, he appeared to suggest a release coinciding with the launch of One of Wun.
“Forget your album. [That] sh*t isn’t hitting like my MIXTAPE,” Future tweeted, and then shortly after, “MIXTAPE PLUTO.” A few hours later, Gunna shared, “Turn this s**t [back] up [a] notch” and “[Forget] about what these boys are saying.”
Even though Future’s release didn’t happen on May 10 — it’s now known he was referencing MIXTAPE PLUTO, which dropped in September — the Freebandz creator did deliver the lines, “Forget your album, s**t ain’t hitting like my mixtape/ I’m earning Saudi Arabia money, offering oil-based.”
