Following numerous requests for collaboration, GloRilla and Sexyy Red have finally teamed up for “WHATCHU KNO ABOUT ME,” featured on the Memphis artist’s GLORIOUS. The album was released on Friday (Oct. 11), accompanied by a visual presentation featuring Boosie Badazz.
The appearance of the Baton Rouge artist was quite fitting, as the song itself samples his 2007 smash hit “Wipe Me Down.” In the visuals, GloRilla and Red donned fur coats over metallic swimsuits and fuzzy boots, dropping lines about their typical themes.
The Grammy nominee rapped, “Big G-L-O in that GLE/ Fifty thousand, new Chanel shopping spree/ And every time I pop it out, you know I A-T-E/ I’m that b**ch, h**, get like me/ You know it’s YWR, big CMG/ Small n**gas, tall n**gas, long paper, no small figures.” Fans speculated that the Ehhthang Ehhthang rapper threw shade at JT in the third verse, seemingly alluding to City Cinderella: “You won’t never catch me slippin’, I ain’t no f**kin’ Cinderella.”
“Outside bubble gum with some bloody red seat/ I like ratchet b**ches twerkin’ to the beat/ If you hear this track playin’, shake that a** for Glo and me,” Red articulated during her feature. Check out the video below.
“WHATCHU KNO ABOUT ME” joins various other notable tracks on GLORIOUS, including the soulful collaboration “RAIN DOWN ON ME,” “HOW I LOOK” featuring Megan Thee Stallion, and the T-Pain-assisted “I LUV HER.” GloRilla expressed that the latter is one of her preferred songs in a chat with Billboard on Tuesday (Oct. 8).
“It’s invigorating to hear his voice. He was the greatest of his time,” she remarked to the outlet. “He’s still the greatest. His music will always have a timeless quality.” Other artists who contributed to the album include Fridayy, BossMan Dlow, Kirk Franklin, and Latto — the Atlanta sensation previously collaborated with Glo on “FTCU” and the remix of her breakout hit “F.N.F. (Let’s Go).”
