GloRilla is encouraging her supporters to head to the polls as the U.S. presidential election approaches. On Monday (Oct. 28), the Memphis-born artist posted a video of herself performing “I LUV HER,” accompanied by a title card that states, “Four compelling reasons to vote for Kamala Harris.”
“A woman’s right to choose!” tops the list of reasons. Harris has been a staunch proponent of allowing women to have the ultimate decision regarding abortion, as highlighted by her recent rally in Houston. The Democratic presidential contender has assured that, if elected, she would enact a law to restore Roe v. Wade.
GloRilla’s second and third points emphasize “Protect the LGBTQIA+ community” and “Investment in public education.” For her fourth and final argument, she underscored the goal of raising the minimum wage to $15 per hour—a priority that the vice president also advocates.
“I genuinely believe we need to increase [the] minimum wage and that diligent workers, whether they’re employed at McDonald’s or elsewhere, must have the means to support themselves and their families adequately,” Harris declared to CNN earlier in the month.
Concluding her video, GloRilla passionately called out to her followers, “Vote Kamala Harris for president!” Her endorsement aligns with the enthusiastic backing she’s shown for the candidate, especially after the “TGIF” performer met Joe Biden and Harris during a Women’s History Month event at the White House in March.
The rapper’s “Wanna Be” collaborator, Megan Thee Stallion, was also present at the candidate’s rally in Atlanta. Other notable figures who have shown their support for Harris include Beyoncé, Lizzo, Quavo, Halle Bailey, Eminem, and Usher.
On the music front, the Collective Music Group signee unveiled GLORIOUS on Oct. 11. This album, which premiered at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart, features collaborations with Latto, Sexyy Red, Muni Long, and others. When a user on X questioned GloRilla about releasing the album during an election period, she humorously retorted, “[What the f**k]? How [did] I get involved in this?”
