Halle Bailey has transitioned away from a fully vegan lifestyle. During an Instagram Live broadcast that gained attention on Saturday (Sept. 21), the “Angel” vocalist disclosed that she abandoned the diet while expecting her child, Halo.
“I’ve noticed plenty of people inquiring if I’m still entirely vegan since I’ve been sharing [videos of]my cooking, and the truth is no, I’m not anymore. The reason is [that] when I was expecting, I began having cravings for meat,” Halle revealed to her audience. “I maintained a vegan diet for 13 years until that point, and I thought, ‘Well, I’ll just give my body what it craves right now because I’m undertaking the challenging task of nurturing a human.’ I also wanted to ensure Halo received all the essential nutrients.”
“I still enjoy vegan cuisine and consume it most of the time… I don’t eat much meat, but if I feel like it, I’m [going to] indulge,” she continued. “I was researching and found numerous women like me who were vegan for many years; once they became pregnant, it all seemed to change.”
Halle and DDG quietly welcomed Halo toward the conclusion of 2023, so some time has indeed passed. Interestingly, her sister, Chlöe Bailey, disclosed that she modified her diet back in June. “My admission is that lately, I have been eating chicken,” she shared with her audience on Instagram.
On the music front, Halle unveiled the visuals for “Because I Love You” in August, featuring RJ Cyler as her romantic interest, along with several of the artist’s clones appearing throughout the clip. This marked her second solo single of the year, following March’s “In Your Hands.”
Additionally, Halle collaborated with Chlöe on “Want Me” from Trouble In Paradise, which received rave reviews.
