Juvenile was among the earliest to express his discontent regarding Kendrick Lamar being selected to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show while Lil Wayne was overlooked.

On Monday, the “Ha” artist visited L.A.’s Power 106 alongside Mannie Fresh, where he was questioned about whether he would join Kendrick on stage if invited.

“Kendrick is one of the most outstanding performers we’ve ever witnessed,” stated Juvenile. “He’s top tier, particularly in the Hip Hop scene. In Hip Hop, he sets the standard. It’s a spectacle that everyone wants to witness, and if he calls, I’ll be there—no hesitation. Kendrick is that guy.”

He elaborated, “I’ve never disrespected Kendrick, not once, because I don’t operate that way. I prefer to uplift rather than to diminish another’s shine. I feel like Wayne was vying for that opportunity, you know? He was vocal about it months in advance. I’m like, if he’s asking for it, at least take him into account. Reach out to him or something.”

Juvenile mentioned that he harbors no grievances against Jay-Z either, who is tasked with selecting the halftime performer.

His primary concern lies with the NFL for hosting the game in his hometown of New Orleans yet doing insufficient to benefit the local community.
