The Vice President Kamala Harris is making an effort to separate herself from President Joe Biden‘s recent remarks about Donald Trump’s supporters, expressing her aspiration to be a leader “for all Americans.”
The Democratic candidate was prompted to respond to the controversial statement made by President Biden on Wednesday morning after he faced backlash for labeling Trump supporters as “garbage” during his remarks on Tuesday evening — a reference that echoes previous comments made about Puerto Rico at a rally hosted by Trump at Madison Square Garden on Sunday.

Although the White House has attempted to clarify Biden’s misstep — highlighting that the president’s remark was focused solely on comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who made the disparaging comment about Puerto Rico — Harris stated she would not condone any derogatory remarks about Trump’s supporters.
She expressed to the press, “I firmly oppose any critique of individuals based on their voting choices. You listened to my address last night and have heard my commitment throughout my career. I am dedicated to serving everyone, regardless of their support for me.”
Continuing her thoughts, Harris stated that it is her “duty” to be a representative for all citizens, asserting she takes her position “with utmost seriousness.”
When queried about her concerns regarding the potential consequences of Biden’s words on voters, the prospective Presidential candidate expressed that she remains untroubled by the incident, indicating she has consistently communicated her vision for the presidency to voters.
In her concluding remarks, she stated, “I acknowledge the struggles that individuals endure. I respect that we share significantly more commonalities than differences, and that the majority of people desire a president who comprehends this reality.”
Harris and Trump are presently in a closely contested electoral battle, as indicated by recent surveys … with only a few days remaining.
