Kim Kardashian is ecstatic that the Menendez brothers now have a chance at freedom, crediting Ryan Murphy as a significant influence in the judicial process that prompted the D.A. to take action.
In reality, there had been a hearing scheduled for Erik and Lyle Menendez to present their case well ahead of Murphy’s ‘Monsters’ debut on Netflix. However, L.A. County D.A. George Gascón emphasized that he expedited the process due to the public’s heightened interest following the documentary, likely referring to the one produced by Paramount.
Regarding Kim’s response, she expressed her gratitude, stating, “Thank you, George Gascon, for revisiting the Menendez brothers’ case and correcting a major injustice.”
She continued, “To all the family, friends, and countless supporters of the brothers – your voices were acknowledged. The media’s attention, particularly following Ryan Murphy’s series, played a critical role in shedding light on the abuse and injustices surrounding their situation.”
As previously reported, Gascón plans to submit legal documents on Friday, requesting the judge to reassess the sentences of Erik and Lyle, which would make them eligible for parole immediately.
If the judge accepts this request, the matter will then go to the California Parole Board, a hearing will be organized, and the brothers might find themselves as free individuals within months.
