Since ascending the ladder in the music realm, Latto has encountered feuds with several artists. However, in contrast to her public disputes with Ice Spice and Coi Leray, her interactions with Nicki Minaj have remained more subdued.
Nonetheless, when Latto graced Instagram Live performing Minaj’s iconic verse from the Young Money hit, “Bedrock,” featuring talents like Lil Wayne, Drake, Tyga, and others, social media reacted with a spectrum of opinions on the implications behind her actions.
A user on the platform previously known as Twitter commented, “‘Latto is real asf for rapping a Nicki Minaj verse.’ Actually, NO, Latto previously discussed Nicki’s family, leaked a private conversation, and age-shamed her. Does anyone recall Nicki’s words? ‘Sealed your fate, if you ever hated on the family.’”
Azealia Banks remarked, “You know, I think, why not just be kind to the girls who admire me and collaborate with them? Because I genuinely believe Nicki is an icon and fully deserves all the accolades she receives; I think she’d find more joy in celebrating the girls. I too am an icon [and] absolutely worthy of the love and admiration I receive, and should be more generous to Doja [Cat] and Doechii instead of being such a nuisance all the time.”
Latto has openly expressed her admiration for Minaj’s work. It will be intriguing to observe whether the “Anaconda” artist will react directly to the now-infamous clip of her rapping the well-loved track.
Latto recently kicked off her “Sugar Honey Iced Tea Tour,” featuring support from Mariah The Scientist and KARRAHBOOO. Additionally, she has been announced as one of the three judges for the upcoming season of Netflix’s “Rhythm + Flow,” alongside Ludacris and DJ Khaled. Also joining the series as guest judges are GloRilla, Big Sean, Busta Rhymes, and Remy Ma. This new season follows the show’s inaugural season that premiered in 2019.
