The James family has just achieved a milestone!
LeBron and Bronny James have officially shared the court during the Lakers’ inaugural game of the season against the Minnesota Timberwolves, marking the first time a father-and-son pair has played together in the NBA!
The duo entered the game simultaneously with 4 minutes left in the second quarter, with the Lakers leading by 16 points.

This moment occurred in the second quarter when Bronny—selected 55th overall in the 2024 NBA Draft—joined his father on the hardwood of Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, in front of a full house.
Among the excited fans were Ken Griffey Sr. and Jr. (the pioneering father-son duo in Major League Baseball), who were thrilled to witness this landmark event.
Savannah James was overjoyed to see her husband and 20-year-old son compete in professional basketball together.
LeBron, now commencing his 22nd season in the league, has previously voiced his aspiration to share the court with his eldest son. Indeed, just a few seasons ago, when Bronny was still playing at Sierra Canyon High School, LBJ noted that playing alongside his son would fulfill a lifelong dream.
“I need to be on the court with my boy,” LeBron expressed previously. “I have to share the floor with Bronny.”
Just a note, the James’ shared the court previously during a preseason game on October 6th. However, those matches don’t contribute to the official statistics. This moment does.
Bronny aspires for this to be the first of many opportunities … and considering he scored 17 points in a recent exhibition against the Warriors on October 18th, that could very well be a realistic ambition.
Congratulations to the James family!
