Lil Durk is stepping up to assist those impacted by Hurricane Milton. On Wednesday evening, October 9, the Chicago-based rapper revealed that his Neighborhood Heroes Foundation intends to send bottled water and food supplies to Florida in support of recovery initiatives.

“My team at Neighborhood Heroes Foundation and I aim to bring attention to the unfortunate circumstances in Florida. We wish to act promptly and are organizing water and food provisions to aid in the hurricane’s aftermath,” he shared through an Instagram Story. “Inshallah. We will keep everyone in our prayers.”

As reported by AP News, Hurricane Milton has left over 3.2 million residences and establishments without electricity and spawned multiple tornados. The cyclone has caused a minimum of four fatalities and compounded the destruction from Hurricane Helene in September. “We will gain a clearer picture of the damage as the situation unfolds,” Florida Governor Ron DeSantis informed.

“We are experiencing flooding in areas to levels I’ve never witnessed, and I have lived in this community my whole life,” Plant City’s Bill McDaniel remarked on Thursday morning, October 10. The city manager also indicated that 13.5 inches of rainfall had occurred, with emergency personnel saving 35 residents the previous night.

The artist of “All My Life” established the Neighborhood Heroes Foundation in 2020. “Our goal is to support and join forces with everyday heroes who are leading efforts to create a positive impact in the lives of individuals in under-resourced communities,” the organization stated.

Durk is set to unveil his upcoming album, Deep Thoughts, on October 18. Within the 17-track lineup, fans can anticipate “Late Checkout” featuring Hunxho, along with pre-released singles “Turn Up A Notch” and “Monitoring Me.”
