Lil Uzi Vert’s upcoming album, Eternal Atake 2, is set to hit the shelves on November 1. On Thursday (October 24), the “Just Wanna Rock” artist re-emerged on social media to unveil the official cover art and teaser for the album.
The album cover portrays a gathering of women with luminous eyes, all donned in Uzi-branded apparel. One notable figure features a key hovering above her head, likely alluding to the keyhole elements that were prominent during the original Eternal Atake campaign. The teaser video showcases the Philadelphia native waking up aboard a UFO after they “mysteriously disappeared” on March 6, 2020, which was the launch date of his first LP.
Interestingly, Wednesday’s (October 23) track “Uzi The Earthling! (TV Show Theme)” was not listed on the pre-order page for the upcoming album on iTunes. The brief 30-second piece, devoid of the rapper’s own singing, features lyrics such as, “Here’s the tale of a fella named Uzi/ Who’s renowned for his diamonds and flair/ From the block to the stage, boy is busy/ Creating tunes that will make you cheer.”
Eternal Atake debuted with just one feature from Syd, along with standout tracks like “Baby Pluto,” “P2,” and “Futsal Shuffle 2020.” Uzi subsequently enhanced the project by incorporating contributions from artists such as Young Thug, NAV, Chief Keef, Lil Durk, 21 Savage, and Future, among others.
In a discussion with W Magazine, Uzi described the album as a “watered-down” version of his initial vision. “All of my music for Eternal Atake got leaked, so I had to recreate it. It didn’t realize its full potential — I just sensed it wasn’t the sound I aspired for,” he noted. “Let’s put it this way: Eternal Atake, for another artist, could have been fantastic as it was significantly simplified for mass appeal, but that’s not my artistic expression. I aim for my new music to resonate more closely with my true fans. I wanted it to possess an almost cult-like quality.”
