After 24 long years, the Mets and Yankees might finally face off in the World Series — and Mark Messier believes the whole tri-state region is eager for that exhilarating showdown to materialize!
TMZ Sports had a moment with the revered New York Rangers star (whose new Amazon Prime series, “Game 7,” launches on Oct. 22), and he remarked that if both squads can emerge victorious in their ongoing series … the overall experience would be “amazing.”
“Both teams are positioned to achieve it,” he commented. “They possess the capability to do so. Let’s just cross our fingers that they both triumph in their series, leading to an unforgettable Subway Series for all.
In the 2000 World Series, the Yankees secured a decisive 4-1 victory over the Mets, marking the franchise’s 26th championship win.
For the Yankees to have any shot at clinching their 28th title in 2024, … their captain — Aaron Judge — must find his rhythm at the plate.
Despite receiving some boos from the faithful pinstripe supporters, the former Rangers captain maintains that it simply reflects the fervor of New York fans — who want the 32-year-old to perform at his peak.
“It’s part of what it takes to thrive in this market,” he stated. “If you can’t manage that, this might not be the ideal environment for you.”
Messier further remarked, “Fans are entitled to express their opinions about every at-bat, game, season, and anything else they desire. That’s just the way it is.”

Messier also elaborated on his new series, emphasizing how a Game 7 mindset can influence everyone, not merely athletes, and recounted his experiences while creating the project.
The Mets must achieve two consecutive victories against the Dodgers for this to come to fruition … with Game 6 happening later today.
There’s a saying … if you can succeed in NY — you can triumph anywhere!!!
