Matthew McConaughey is definitely not “alright, alright, alright” with Texas supporters tossing trash onto the field during Saturday’s contest against Georgia … urging students to “pick up that kind of nonsense” and strive for improvement in the future.
As previously mentioned, UT faced a $250k penalty for fans launching bottles and debris following a disputed pass interference call in the third quarter of the game … which temporarily halted the proceedings at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.
The actor — who also holds the title of Minister of Culture for all UT matters — expressed disappointment with the situation … issuing a statement aimed at the student community.
McConaughey kicked off his remarks by commending the fans for their enthusiasm and creating a supportive atmosphere for the Longhorns, even amidst the loss … then redirected his attention to the unfortunate spectacle that took place.
“However, let’s be honest about the bottle tossing incident we experienced,” MM stated. “That was not acceptable. A major misstep. Sure, that call was unfair, but we are all more dignified than that. Longhorn Nation knows how to turn out with pride, celebrating without losing our grace.”
MM encouraged fans to redeem themselves by holding onto their waste while sustaining their fervor … starting with the upcoming Longhorns’ home game against the Florida Gators.

“Moving ahead, let’s tidy up that type of nonsense and put it behind us for good,” he remarked. “We must come to an agreement on that.”
