Matthew Perry‘s relatives convened to reflect on the life of the “Friends” icon, marking a year since his passing.
Matthew’s stepfather, Keith Morrison of “Dateline,” his mother, Suzanne Morrison, together with his three sisters, met with “Today’s” Savannah Guthrie to discuss what they think were pivotal elements leading to Matthew’s passing.
Madeline, one of Matthew’s siblings, emphasized that he might not have realized he had slipped back into addiction. He had recently emerged from a period of sobriety following his book promotion trail and was using ketamine for therapeutic reasons. However, he began obtaining ketamine illegally and was consuming it in excessive quantities independently.
The family described Matthew as determined and strong-willed, yet at his core, he was a solitary individual grappling with profound challenges.

Keith expressed his satisfaction with the pursuit of accountability, stating that if one provides drugs to an addict resulting in their death, “You are going down, baby.”
