Megan Thee Stallion has an eventful October ahead. The talented artist from Houston will unveil her MEGAN: ACT II on streaming platforms this Friday (October 25), followed closely by her release of Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words on Halloween (October 31) through Amazon Prime Video.

While appearing on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Wednesday (October 23), Megan opened up about her initial reluctance to participate in a documentary. “[During] that entire chapter of my life, I faced tumultuous challenges, and I felt like many individuals stripped away my humanity,” she shared, likely alluding to the aftermath of her shooting incident involving Tory Lanez.

“People were commenting on my life. You don’t know me. That wasn’t your story to tell. You have no idea how I truly feel,” she continued. “It felt surreal to have my life narrated by numerous voices that weren’t my own. When I was presented with the chance to create a documentary — which I didn’t seek; they approached me […] — my first instinct was to decline.”

The artist behind “HISS” later elaborated on her change of heart: “I felt as if my story was being dictated by others. I needed to reclaim my narrative. I wanted to express my feelings and share my viewpoint. I desire for the public to understand the real me, Megan Pete, beyond just Megan Thee Stallion.”

Shortly thereafter, Megan lightheartedly remarked that even though she may appear as a modern-day Wonder Woman, she, too, experiences emotions like everyone else. Catch her full interview below.

Megan’s appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” coincided with the revelation of her MEGAN: ACT II tracklist. The album boasts 13 tracks, featuring a remix of her Yuki Chiba-assisted “Mamushi” in collaboration with the group TWICE. Additionally, she has teamed up with Flo Milli, the heavy metal group Spiritbox, and RM — she previously collaborated with the BTS star on “Neva Play” back in September.
