The Menendez brothers have been making headlines recently with a potential opportunity for future liberty — and TMZ has the insights on what could be their last Halloween behind bars.
An insider from the California Department of Corrections informed TMZ that Erik and Lyle are gearing up for a spooky film night in the facility, where they’ll likely enjoy the original 1990 rendition of Stephen King‘s “IT.”
According to reports, the brothers and their fellow inmates at the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego are preparing a classic prison snack for the celebration — “candy salad,” which is essentially a hodgepodge of every type of candy available at the commissary mixed together in a big bowl.
They’re going all out with an assortment of chips, cookies, microwave popcorn, sodas, and even homemade taffy… concocted by blending creamer and Kool-Aid.
It’s not only the Menendez brothers’ institution getting into the Halloween spirit. Prisons throughout California are livening things up with festive mini-events, family days, and “trunk-or-treat” parties — where staff adorn their car trunks outside and distribute candy to visiting children and families.
