It’s not Trump and Vance, or Harris and Walz stealing the spotlight in Washington, D.C. … rather, it’s Bao Li and Qing Bao – the novel giant pandas making their debut at the National Zoo.
The pair touched down in style on Tuesday — journeying on a private FedEx cargo jet from China … and upon arriving at their new abode, they were treated like stars. News helicopters followed along their trip from the airport … and the zoo released footage of their arrival and settling into their habitat.
Fortunately, the new adorably clumsy creatures appear to be completely at ease in their new habitat — munching on bamboo and frolicking about. Their enthusiastic fanbase will have to make do with whatever photos the zoo releases, as they’re currently in quarantine to help them adjust.
Interestingly, the public’s first opportunity to see them in person is set for January 24, coinciding with the week our forthcoming president takes office.
At last, a D.C. pair that isn’t mired in politics!
