On Friday, September 20, Nicki Minaj expressed her regrets to photographer Grizz — otherwise known as Alex Loucas — after an incident where she accidentally knocked his camera from his grasp during her performance in San Antonio the day before (September 19).
The rapper known for “FTCU” mistook Grizz for an intrusive individual capturing footage from an inappropriate angle, as evidenced by a circulating clip, which prompted her to kick the photographer. He reacted with, “Ow, that’s me! No!” After sharing the video on Twitter, Minaj added, “This is one of the wildest moments we’ve ever recorded. Y’all [please] take a look at this.”
Not long after the event, Minaj turned to Instagram to clarify the situation and extend her apologies. “The fact that I misidentified Grizz, one of my [favorite people] in the universe, as a Peeping Tom and started stomping towards him,” she said. “Grizz, I’m sorry. Much love to you.”
In another part of her post, the Queen artist conveyed her affection for the audience who attended her concert: “Texas, you are stunning in every manner. If only you could see just how brightly you shine, this night is one I will carry with me for all my days. Wishing God’s abundant blessings on each and every individual who came out to support.”
The “Pink Friday 2 World Tour” is set to follow with two consecutive performances in Los Angeles, beginning Saturday night (September 21). Following that, Minaj plans to visit cities like San Francisco, Las Vegas, Kansas City, and St. Louis, among other notable locations.
Pink Friday 2: Gag City Reloaded was initially slated for release on September 13. However, Minaj recently revealed her decision to cancel it and proceed with Pink Friday 3. “I’ve opted to create an entirely new album,” she shared on September 15. “I’ll reveal the new date within a few weeks. The fresh tracks are simply too exceptional to go on a deluxe album.”
“As my inaugural album as [Papa Bear’s] mother, it holds tremendous significance for me for various reasons that you may not know. I arranged each song deliberately… adding just one or two isn’t a big deal, but incorporating five to seven feels a bit haphazard at this point,” Minaj elaborated.
