Nicki Minaj’s “Pink Friday 2 World Tour” culminated on Friday night (Oct. 11) in her native Queens, New York. She finished the record-shattering tour by inviting two esteemed guests on stage: Young M.A and Sexyy Red.
The artist hailing from St. Louis showcased “Get It Sexyy” from her recent release, In Sexyy We Trust, along with “Pound Town 2” featuring Minaj. “I’m so grateful you brought me out,” Red expressed on Twitter following the performance.
The two musicians have been radiating admiration toward one another throughout the year, with their most recent collaboration being April’s “FTCU (SLEEZEMIX)” alongside Travis Scott and Chris Brown.
Minaj played a pivotal role in helping Red and Tay Keith achieve their inaugural Billboard Hot 100 entry with “Pound Town 2.” Reflecting on their first collaboration, the Hood Hottest Princess stated on Threads, “It was such a fantastic experience! She’s such a lovely person, and it’s evident how committed she is to her craft. She provided me with some invaluable advice that I’ll always remember. I genuinely appreciate her support and kindness.”
The second leg of the North American “Pink Friday 2 World Tour” made its way through various cities, including Philadelphia, Cleveland, Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, and Miami, among others. Supporting performers included Tyga, Skillibeng, and BIA. Notably, Big Sean, Jhené Aiko, Kirko Bangz, 2 Chainz, and 50 Cent have also graced select stages during this exhilarating journey.
“We’ve made history in female rap, I believe, with the number of sold-out shows and how many performances have surpassed $2 million,” Minaj remarked after her arena tour became the highest-grossing tour by a woman in Hip Hop. “I just want to extend my gratitude to everyone who has come out. I never would have imagined this tour reaching such heights.”
