Nicki Minaj’s “Pink Friday 2 World Tour” reached its grand finale on Friday (October 11) in her birthplace of Queens, New York. The pioneering performer celebrated the end of her record-setting tour by inviting two notable guests on stage: Young M.A and Sexyy Red.
The St. Louis sensation showcased “Get It Sexyy,” a track from her newest endeavor, In Sexyy We Trust, alongside “Pound Town 2” featuring Minaj. After the performance, Red expressed her gratitude on Twitter, stating, “Thank you so much for bringing me out.”
The two musicians have been showering each other with appreciation throughout the year, with their most recent collaboration being April’s “FTCU (SLEEZEMIX)” featuring Travis Scott and Chris Brown.
Minaj played a significant role in helping Red and Tay Keith secure their inaugural entry on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Pound Town 2.” Reflecting on their first collaboration, the Hood Hottest Princess commented on Threads, “It was such a wonderful experience! She’s such a lovely person, and you can genuinely see that she is deeply committed to her craft. She gave me invaluable advice that I will always hold onto. I’m truly grateful for her kindness and support.”
The second segment of the North American leg of the “Pink Friday 2 World Tour” dazzled audiences in cities such as Philadelphia, Cleveland, Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, and Miami, among others. Supporting acts included Tyga, Skillibeng, and BIA. Notably, Big Sean, Jhené Aiko, Kirko Bangz, 2 Chainz, and 50 Cent made guest appearances at various tour stops.
“Today, I believe we’ve created a milestone in female rap history with the number of sold-out concerts and shows grossing over $2 million,” Minaj remarked about her tour’s accomplishment in becoming the highest-grossing tour by a woman in Hip Hop. “I extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who came out. I would have never imagined in my most extravagant dreams that this tour would become a reality.”
