NLE Choppa stands as one of the most discussed artists across social media platforms. Despite the buzz surrounding him, it wasn’t sufficient to secure a spot on Complex’s freshly released list titled “20 Best Rappers In Their 20s Right Now” from earlier this week (Sept. 12).

Although his absence from the renowned list didn’t appear alarming, both he and his fanbase were disappointed by his exclusion. The roster featured notable figures like Latto, Doja Cat, Ken Carson, Central Cee, Lil Yachty, and Lil Baby, while Playboi Carti claimed the number one position. The compilation also highlighted Megan Thee Stallion and fellow Memphis rapper, GloRilla.

While commenting on the list, he remarked, “Whoever created that Complex list, I just want to inform you: you should consider diving into rock ‘n’ roll or another type of music. I’ve been trying to stay low-profile and maintain positivity… but you all have me messed up.” Although he aimed to acknowledge others on the list respectfully, his visible annoyance stemmed from the fact that his recent accomplishments did not earn him recognition.

The “Slut Me Out” artist has recently gained immense attention for his performance during Atlanta Pride and for flirting with the concept of “coming out” in a new feature with PAPER Magazine. Discussing speculation about being connected to the LGBTQ+ community, he clarified, “I never claimed to be gay.”

During his performance at a show for Atlanta Pride, he expressed, “It’s a wonderful thing because the sheer volume of reactions from people is what inspires me to stay firmly grounded in my mission.” He elaborated, “The beauty lies in the opportunity it gave me to respond to perceptions, ‘Oh, do you think I’m this way? Alright, let me give you more reasons to think that, even though I’m not. Let me show greater support to the individuals you believe I’m connected with because, in the end, we’re all human beings.’”

NLE Choppa’s recent tracks have been achieving remarkable success, and he has been active in various performances. His latest works have attracted support from fellow artists like BigXthaPlug, Joey Bada$$, Shaboozey, and many more.
