TMZ Sports has acquired footage from the police concerning Patrick Mahomes Sr.‘s traffic stop in June … and unlike his February incident with law enforcement, everything seemed to unfold without issue for the father of Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes II.
Initially reported by us … Mahomes Sr. was stopped around 8:30 PM on June 29 in Tyler, Texas — merely a few months following his DWI arrest in the same area — after allegations of a traffic violation.
The body camera footage reveals that after the officer pulled him over … Mahomes Sr. was taken aback to discover he had seemingly violated traffic laws.
“Oh,” Mahomes Sr. can be heard saying in the video, “it’s a no passing area?”
A moment later, he provided his details to the officer — but the officer quickly noted there was a problem.
The officer can be overheard in the recording informing Mahomes Sr. that his license “is not valid.” He subsequently reiterated, “it’s ineligible.”
Ultimately, Mahomes Sr. received a citation for operating a vehicle with an invalid license — and was advised regarding his disregard for traffic signals. Afterward, he was informed he could leave.
This, of course, was a stark contrast to his encounter on February 3 when he was stopped due to suspected intoxicated driving.

During that earlier event, police footage revealed that the senior Mahomes attempted multiple times to invoke his son’s name to evade consequences — a strategy that ultimately failed, leading to his confinement.
Mahomes Sr. has since resolved both incidents … and shared with reporters in September that he has decided to quit drinking.
