Rich Homie Quan’s inaugural posthumous album, Forever Going In, is set to be released this Friday (Oct. 4), coinciding with what would have been his 35th birthday.
“Releasing at midnight! 34 tracks in total,” a message from the rapper’s account announced on Thursday (Oct. 3). “Ironically, that’s the age I [left this world]. Bonus: one additional [track] as tomorrow will eternally be a celebration! My [present] to my supporters.”
This impending release is anticipated to feature collaborations from artists like 2 Chainz, Lil Tjay, Skilla Baby, Sukihana, Plies, Quicktrip, Duoo, and VVS. The cover art presents a nostalgic image of Quan wearing a crown, accompanied by the phrase, “I promise I will never cease going in,” referencing his 2014 project of the same name.
Notably, “Song Cry” will not be included in the album. Quan’s estate revealed this track during his memorial service held in College Park, Georgia, on Sept. 17.
Earlier this week, the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office identified Quan’s cause of death as an accidental overdose. He passed away on Sept. 5 due to a fatal combination of substances including fentanyl, alprazolam, codeine, promethazine, and THC.
“Though he leaves a significant void in our hearts, we find solace in knowing his music and indomitable spirit will continue to exist. Quan’s legacy will forever echo as the soundtrack of our lives,” the late artist’s family shared with People. “For this, we express our gratitude. Details regarding the celebration of his life will be announced shortly. Thank you to everyone for your thoughtful words and support during this challenging period.”
Forever Going In will act as a sequel to 2022’s Family & Mula, which featured a solitary collaboration from NoCap. Quan subsequently enriched the project with an extra seven tracks, including “Spin,” “Real Life,” and “Bigger Problems.”
