The unforgettable fashion statements made by Rihanna continue to be cherished even years later. On Wednesday (Sept. 25), Madame Tussauds introduced a brand-new wax figure of the “Work” artist, set to be showcased in London from Friday (Sept. 27).
The figure captures her look from the 2019 British Fashion Awards, featuring a bespoke mini dress by Fenty, coordinated gloves, and a choker. The talented artists also recreated Rihanna’s medium-length Fulani braids along with other adornments, such as her semi-transparent wrap and earrings — all without ASAP Rocky, who was her date at the event.
“Rihanna is a true force in the realms of beauty, fashion, and music, radiating brilliance like a diamond,” stated Jo Kinsey from Madame Tussauds London in a press release, according to Billboard. “She occupies a unique spot within our hearts, and now our guests can encounter her in all her glory! We’re ecstatic to offer admirers a memorable experience with this ultimate icon.”
In the comments of the announcement, supporters shared their thoughts on the wax replica. “This is definitely one of my favorites. Wow, it’s so perfect,” one comment read. Another user asserted, “It truly resembles her.”
“For just a second, I mistook it for Rihanna’s latest photoshoot,” someone remarked under Pop Base’s post. Additional reactions included, “That’s incredibly accurate! Looks absolutely stunning!” and “They are improving significantly, OMG.”
Madame Tussauds had earlier unveiled a lifelike version of the Unapologetic singer’s 2023 Super Bowl halftime costume, which was also highly praised. The wax museum aimed for its visitors in Orlando, Florida, to “experience the thrill of her performance.”
Among other stars receiving their own wax likenesses in 2024 are Beyoncé, Drake, and Post Malone.
On the musical front, Rihanna has yet to provide any updates regarding the successor to ANTI. Since then, the music and beauty mogul has welcomed two children, expanded Fenty Beauty globally, and made a debut in haircare.
