A wave of British celebrities are expressing their admiration for Liam Payne on social media … with both Sharon Osbourne and Robbie Williams sharing heartfelt messages to the former One Direction star.
Osbourne, who served as a judge on “The X Factor” though not during the inception of One Direction, took to Instagram on Thursday … expressing her sympathies for Liam and asserting that the entire industry failed him.
She remarked that LP was merely a child when he entered the music scene … and expressed her belief that there wasn’t sufficient support for him, questioning, “Who was backing you up?”
Robbie Williams, a rock icon in his own right, shared a nostalgic message about meeting Liam along with the entire 1D crew back in the day … endearingly referring to all the young men as “cheeky and delightful.”
Williams disclosed that he formed a deeper connection with Liam in the subsequent years as the young artist struggled with mental health, substance abuse, and alcohol-related issues, which mirrored his own experiences. Robbie shared that he endeavored to support Liam through these challenges, as he could relate to his situation … emphasizing that he reached out frequently throughout the years.
The Take That member reminded his audience that people often remain unaware of what others are experiencing in their lives … thus, it can be difficult to ascertain what kind of suffering someone might be enduring.
He recounted his own challenges with relapse at Liam’s age … reminiscing about the late actor Heath Ledger, and how he feared that he might meet the same tragic fate in the future.
Ed Sheeran — who shared a close bond with Liam and the One Direction members, having penned tracks for the group — released an emotional statement on Friday. In his homage, Ed expressed that he felt “lost for words,” extending his heartfelt condolences to Liam’s family and loved ones.

He continued, … “Every moment I shared with him is a cherished one, just an incredibly tragic occurrence.”
As is widely known, Liam tragically fell from a third-floor balcony at his hotel in Argentina last Wednesday. At least one official from Buenos Aires law enforcement has suggested that Liam leapt.
A hotel staff member notified authorities prior to Liam’s passing, mentioning that a guest was “overcome” by substances and that the staff had been unable to gain entry to his room for several days.
A multitude of celebrities have shared profound tributes to Liam, including all of his fellow 1D members. He was just 31 years old.
Rest in Peace
