Sunny Hostin is calling out Donald Trump … after he neglected to denounce a comedian’s disparaging remarks about Puerto Rico during his rally this past weekend.
In case you missed it, comedian Tony Hinchcliffe performed at the Republican nominee’s rally at Madison Square Garden in NYC on Sunday, referring to the U.S. territory as “a floating island of garbage.” Trump has yet to explicitly denounce the statement and noticeably sidestepped the comments when he took the stage later that day.

However, a senior campaign advisor remarked that the “joke does not represent the views of President Trump.”
It didn’t come as a shock when Sunny, who has Puerto Rican ancestry, addressed the issue during Monday’s episode of “The View” … expressing her displeasure with both the comments and Trump.
She emphasized … “Puerto Rico is garbage? We are Americans, Donald Trump. Americans. We willingly serve an outsized proportion in the military while you have bone spurs. And we cast our votes.”
As her commentary progressed, Sunny signaled to Trump and his campaign that Pennsylvania, a critical swing state, is home to “nearly half a million Puerto Ricans.” There are significant Puerto Rican communities in North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Nevada … with Sunny alerting that they also vote in these pivotal areas.
Sunny kept going, highlighting well-known Puerto Rican figures — including Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin, and Bad Bunny, among others — all of whom boast substantial social media followings.
According to the television personality, Trump ought to take her words to heart, particularly “since you seem so focused on size.”
She continued… “We do not appreciate what was said about Puerto Rico, and we are capable of cleaning up the trash, Donald Trump. Trash that has been piling up since 2016 and that’s you, Donald Trump.”
Sunny concluded her message by urging her fellow Puerto Ricans to cast their votes on November 5, referring to it as “trash collection day.”
