The year 2024 has already turned out to be monumental for Kendrick Lamar. He released one of the biggest Hip Hop albums in May titled “Not Like Us,” and the momentum hasn’t slowed, especially with the announcement of him headlining Super Bowl LIX.
On Sunday (Oct. 13), SZA ignited speculation that the Compton rapper may be preparing his next album. She shared a tweet from TDE artist Devin Malik which stated, “Mood ‘cause new K. Dot album [is on the way]” on her Instagram.
While Malik hasn’t collaborated directly with Lamar, he has contributed production to artists like Isaiah Rashad, ScHoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, and Doechii. In contrast, SZA has worked alongside the “Alright” artist for the Grammy-nominated track “All The Stars” and the earlier piece “Doves in the Wind” from 2017.
As of this writing, Lamar has yet to validate these rumors. His latest music piece, tentatively named “Watch The Party Die,” was unexpectedly made available via Instagram in September. Nonetheless, an album release timed around the Super Bowl LIX wouldn’t be surprising — Usher executed a similar strategy with COMING HOME during the halftime show of 2024.
“Rap music is undeniably the most influential genre to this day,” Lamar remarked leading up to the anticipated football event, scheduled for February 9, 2025, in New Orleans. He elaborated, “And I’ll be present to remind the globe why. They’ve got the right one.”

He possesses an unmatched capability to define and influence culture on a global scale. Kendrick’s artistry transcends mere music, and his legacy will resonate for many years ahead.”
Lamar’s previous album, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, was released on streaming platforms in 2022 and secured the award for Best Rap Album at the 2023 Grammy Awards.
