The individual charged with the tragic stabbing of three young girls who gathered to dance to Taylor Swift songs this past summer is now facing an additional two criminal counts, which include a terror-related offense.
Authorities in England have confirmed that the 18-year-old suspect, Axel Rudakubana, is accused of fabricating the lethal toxin ricin, and possessing a jihad training manual linked to Al-Qaeda.
Law enforcement officials observed that they discovered the ricin along with the Al-Qaeda jihad manual during their investigation of Rudakubana’s residence, a move that followed the southport stabbings in July. Ricin, originating from castor oil plant seeds, is recognized as one of the most hazardous toxins on the planet.
Although the added charges pertain to terror-related activities, officials remark that this case has not been categorically designated as a terrorist act … as it is crucial to establish a motive.
Rudakubana, identified by authorities as being born in England, is slated to make an appearance in court this Wednesday … and he has already been charged with murder, attempted murder, and illegal possession of a knife.
As previously reported … Rudakubana is believed to have fatally stabbed three children, aged 6, 7, and 9, during a Taylor Swift-themed dance workshop in the UK on July 29. Police have stated that ricin was absent at the crime scene.
In a post on Instagram following the incident, Taylor expressed to her supporters her deep sorrow, stating that she was “completely in shock” … “These were just little kids at a dance class. I find it beyond comprehension how to express my condolences to their families.”
The trial for Rudakubana is anticipated to commence in January.
