Teyana Taylor has responded to Kayla Nicole’s remarks made during the latest episode of Angel Reese’s “Unapologetically Angel” podcast aired on October 10. In her conversation with the WNBA athlete, the sports commentator discussed “the wildest thing [she’s] experienced in a relationship.”

“I was in a relationship where the guy ended things via text, and he left me for a celebrity who was in the spotlight back then,” Nicole disclosed. The Pepperdine University graduate later mentioned that she had dressed up as that star for Halloween. It wasn’t long before social media pieced together the clues, showcasing old pictures of her impersonating Taylor from Ye’s “Fade” music video.

Instagram on Saturday night (October 11), the “Gonna Love Me” vocalist shared a detailed reaction. “Forget about the Iman situation. I’m happily divorced. Nonetheless, her choice of phrasing was truly distasteful and unnecessary,” Taylor expressed. “She was fully aware of her words. That woman said, ‘She was famous back then’ and also mentioned, ‘[I don’t care] who witnesses it.’ It was incredibly inappropriate and uncalled for. Most importantly, she anticipated it would lead to scrutiny, so naturally, my name gets entangled in the drama.”

The Harlem-based artist subsequently accused Nicole of exploiting the “racial card” due to Taylor Swift’s involvement with her former partner, Travis Kelce. “[She] went ahead and attempted to intimidate the Black woman who was linked to her love interest [who] supposedly ‘left her’ for me,” Taylor stated. “What was the purpose of dressing up like me?”

She finished with, “The ironic part is, I actually showed appreciation on her post when she shared it, just as I did for the other 3,736,262,626 individuals who dressed as me for Halloween. All along, I was unaware she was being sneaky. Now I am. So, on that note, let’s just say petty panties are on. [I] had my little moment, spoke my piece, and now I’m done and returning to my work!”
