Following the achievement of his fourth consecutive No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with DAYS BEFORE RODEO, Travis Scott released the music video for “Mo City Flexologist” on Tuesday (Sept. 24). Helmed by Kahlil Joseph, the visuals were aptly filmed in Missouri City, Texas—the artist’s hometown.
“Recalling those summers I cruised through the night, I mixed the Sprite, I crushed up the ice/ Who would’ve guessed LaFlame would elevate beyond imagination? Rising up, I sought faith amid the lights,” Scott delivers in his verses, a piece that was first teased in 2014. Although it didn’t make the final selection of DAYS BEFORE RODEO, “Mo City Flexologist” was included in one of the three deluxe editions the Houston native released in August.
The video features numerous nostalgic scenes with Scott and his daughter, showcasing the day he received the key to Missouri City, alongside more current footage of Hightower High School.
Shortly post-release, Scott tweeted, “‘Mo City Flex’ available on DSPs?” Other tracks absent from the initial album included “Yeah Yeah” featuring Young Thug, “Serenade,” and “Whole Lots Changed,” to name just a few.
The founder of Cactus Jack Records hinted at the potential of embarking on an extensive tour to coincide with the re-release. However, he is currently wrapping up the South America and Australia segments of his “UTOPIA: CIRCUS MAXIMUS TOUR.” Meanwhile, Scott has released a concert film documenting his one-night performance in Atlanta, where he showcased several of its notable tracks.
“Travis Scott’s DAYS BEFORE RODEO is a landmark body of work. As the 10th anniversary of this mixtape approaches and with its release on streaming platforms, we aimed to commemorate the occasion and encapsulate the energy it has infused into countless celebrations,” stated Josh Peas, Spotify’s head of Hip Hop and R&B Artist Partnerships. “This concert doc serves as a tribute to that memorable evening and a gift for fans to relive; it’s a perfect time capsule to carry this story into the future.”
