As the deluxe version of her eponymous album approaches its release in just a few days, Tyla unveiled a snippet of “PUSH 2 START” on Tuesday (October 8). The talented artist posted a personal video showcasing the track, which will accompany two additional new songs this Friday (October 11).
“The way we groove, uh, skin to skin/ No distance, need no compensation, nah, nah, nah/ Ah, on everything/ It’s instinctive, speeding from zero to a hundred, nah, nah, nah,” Tyla crooned. “Enjoy it, wishing the wheels won’t come off/ The clock is ticking, it’s taking you too much time/ Right before I make up my mind to go back home.”
TYLA (Deluxe) will also feature “BACK to YOU” and “SHAKE AH,” with the latter showcasing contributions from Tony Duardo, Optimist, and Maestro.
Tyla is set to grace the stage at the Corona Capital Festival in November, followed by an array of performances in Africa during December. The “ART” sensation will perform at Cape Town’s GrandWest Grand Arena on December 5 and Pretoria’s SunBet Arena on December 7. Moreover, she has collaborated with Coke Studio for a special concert in her native Johannesburg that same month.
Released in March, TYLA featured notable collaborations with Travis Scott, Gunna, Skillibeng, Becky G, and many more. The album also included the hit “Water,” which earned the title of Best African Music Performance at the 2024 Grammy Awards.
“The vision for the album was to introduce myself to the world, and it felt right for it to carry the name TYLA, so everyone knows I’ve arrived,” the artist shared with ESSENCE Girls United. “While it’s self-titled, it truly embodies the ideal selection for my debut album.”
As for the collaboration “No. 1” with Tems, Tyla expressed, “I’m thrilled with how it turned out. Her vocals are incredibly powerful and heartfelt. I believe she provided the essential touch I wanted for the album.”
