Tyler, the Creator is undeniably enjoying one of the most prominent fashion moments of 2024. After a brief collaboration with Supreme in August, the “See You Again” singer’s GOLF le FLEUR* label partnered with Converse to unveil their newest collaboration, the Darryl Chuck 70, on Tuesday (Sept. 24).

This upcoming release will offer a innovative spin on the footwear giant’s classic Chuck Taylor, featuring thicker laces, 10 new color variations, and Tyler’s Airedale terrier logo placed on the heel. The initial release is set for Thursday (Sept. 26) at 10 a.m. ET. Among five pastel-inspired hues, enthusiasts can choose from lavender, butter yellow, pistachio green, light brown, and milky blue.

“The Chuck Taylor is an iconic everyday sneaker we adore, but we noticed a lack of shades that fit our color scheme,” the Grammy awardee expressed through Instagram. “So, we decided to create 10 le FLEUR* versions of this classic Chuck Taylor with an off-white sole, thick laces designed for broader silhouettes, and our signature Darryl to personalize it.”

Tyler enhanced the announcement with a whimsical commercial illustrating the conceptualization of the Darryl Chuck 70. A satirical board meeting, which Converse humorously claimed they “must have overlooked” in Tyler’s post, showcased the artist and his crew deliberating over the dog design, laces, and other features.

At one moment, Jasper Dolphin, an associate from Odd Future, wittily announced, “We’re going to generate loads of revenue.” The 49-second video also gave a glimpse of the upcoming color variations, which include pine green, red, and light pink, among others.

Earlier this year, in March, Tyler debuted his capsule line with Louis Vuitton, partly thanks to men’s creative director Pharrell Williams. This collection featured “monograms, wavy soles, waffle and butter [sandals], [and] dogs” across bags, jackets, trousers, and numerous other items.

“I wanted to blend my aesthetic with the essence of Louis Vuitton in a manner that felt slightly whimsical yet could still be suitable for a stop at the gas station on a Tuesday,” he stated during that time.
