Shohei Ohtani‘s injury left fans in disbelief at Dodger Stadium this past Saturday evening … yet, it oddly thrilled some Yankees supporters who erupted in loud cheers while viewing the injury on screen.
A clip seemingly filmed inside a Bronx pub right after the Dodgers’ star partially dislocated his shoulder during their 4-2 victory over their adversaries, securing a two-game advantage in the seven-game series, captures the jubilant scene.

Check out the video yourself … we aren’t claiming that everyone is applauding — but certain individuals are evidently thrilled at the idea that Shohei might be sidelined, visibly fist-pumping and applauding as Ohtani lies in discomfort.
One particularly considerate fan thinks this is the perfect moment to express his feelings by raising his middle finger… gesturing contempt toward the image of the 30-year-old sprawled near second base.
Ohtani encountered a shoulder subluxation — the medical term for a partial displacement of the shoulder — while attempting to steal second base in the seventh inning. He seemed to be in significant pain as he exited the field.
However, he might just get the last laugh in this scenario… as Dodgers manager Dave Roberts mentioned there’s a strong possibility he could participate in Game 3 of the series tomorrow — and might have the chance to retaliate at Yankee Stadium.
This is Shohei’s inaugural postseason since making his move from Japan to join Major League Baseball prior to the 2018 season. He is currently batting .260 with three home runs over 13 postseason games.
The World Series often elicits peak performances from certain players … and seems to prompt some fans to disregard basic sportsmanship principles.
