Shohei Ohtani‘s injury shocked fans into a hushed stillness at Dodger Stadium on Saturday night… but it seemingly delighted some Yankees supporters, who erupted into loud cheers as they witnessed the incident on screen.
A video reportedly filmed inside a Bronx bar shortly after the Dodgers star partially dislocated his shoulder during the team’s 4-2 victory over their rivals—cementing a two-game lead in the seven-game series—captures the exuberant atmosphere.

Watch the footage for yourself… we’re not claiming everyone is cheering here—but there are definitely some fans visibly thrilled at the prospect of Ohtani missing time, enthusiastically pumping their fists and applauding while he writhes in agony on the ground.
One exceptionally classy fan took the opportunity to raise his middle finger… showing disdain for the image of the 30-year-old sprawled near second base.
Ohtani experienced a shoulder subluxation—the formal term for a partial dislocation—while attempting to steal second base in the 7th inning. He looked to be in considerable distress as he exited the field.
He might end up having the last laugh in this scenario, as Dodgers manager Dave Roberts has indicated there’s a strong possibility he could feature in Game 3 of the series tomorrow—and he may get a chance to take his revenge at Yankee Stadium.
This is Shohei’s inaugural postseason since transitioning from Japan to play in Major League Baseball before the 2018 season. He is batting .260 with three home runs across 13 playoff games.
The World Series showcases the best talents in some players… yet, it seems to prompt certain fans to disregard fundamental sports etiquette.
